Song Garden – A Bundle of Blessings at Mercure Singapore Bugis this CNY

Cuisine:

Who would have thought 2018 passed so quickly? With the Lunar New Year’s vibes beckoning, we have the first to start off our CNY food tasting list, Song Garden at Mercure Singapore Bugis, which is known for its Cantonese gastronomy!

Braised Lobster with Pumpkin Puree served in Hot Stone Pot

We’d rarely go for braised lobsters when we are out, so Song Garden’s Braised Lobster with Pumpkin Puree served in Hot Stone Pot caught us by surprise, with a great load of rich lobster flavour, firm lobster meat and a sweet aftertaste thereafter. Another bowl/pot, please!

Here’s another CNY special in Song Garden’s 2019 CNY menu: the Crispy Roast Duck with Osmanthus Sauce. Instead of the obligatory roasted Peking duck for Chinese New Year, we’d say, why not go for a lighter version paired with a refreshing flowery aroma (from the Osmanthus Sauce)?

Supreme Fortune Pot

Expect tenderness and luxury from premium ingredients such as Japanese 8-head Abalone, Roast Duck, Crispy Pork Belly, Dried Oysters, Sea Cucumbers, Scallops, Prawns, and more that are put together in a prosperity pot and simmered over the stove for more than 2 hours, in Song Garden’s Supreme Fortune Pot (Pen Cai or Poon Choi).

Available for both a la carte and takeaway, from $388++ (Regular) to $688++ (Large).

Supreme Hot Pot

Savour each and every braised goodness to the fullest, and you are sure to usher in the new year with an abundance of prosperity. Flavourful, succulent yet delicate, the abalones were definitely our favourites!

Golden Pillow White Pepper Pork Spare Ribs Bun

A must-have highlight in Song Garden’s CNY Menu is the Golden Pillow White Pepper Pork Spare Ribs Bun. Symbolizing wealth in the Year of the Pig, the soft pillow (bread) soaks up the rich and flavourful homemade recipe of white pepper & shiitake mushroom sauce by Executive Chef Wong, and its irresistible slow-braised and tender pork ribs that brings great texture to the whole dish.

Prosperity Salmon & Fresh Fruit Yu Sheng

“招财进宝! 鸿运当头…满地黄金!” Whichever auspicious phrases, go all fruity and healthier in the Year of the Pig as you toss Song Garden’s Signature Prosperity Salmon & Fresh Fruit Yu Sheng – a delectable and refreshing medley containing Dragon Fruit, Rock Melon, Apples, Mango and Pear, in addition to the traditional carrot salads. If that’s not special enough, a selection of the luxurious Bamboo Lobster, Abalone or Kanpachi (Kingfish) Yu Sheng can also be made!

Available for both a la carte and takeaway:

  1. Song Garden Salmon & Fresh Fruit Yu Sheng (颂苑蛙鱼缤纷捞生) ($98++ for Regular, $138++ for Large)
  2. Song Garden Bamboo Lobster Yu Sheng (颂苑龙虾捞生) ($118++ for Regular, $168++ for Large)
