With an undying passion for food (pies in particular), Boathouse Galley was started. Chef Nelson Choo made the kitchen his home, and resulted in 10 different savory flavors for their pies and a wide variety of food such as pastas and main courses. Unlike regular shortcrust pies you find elsewhere, Boathouse Galley’s freshly baked pies that are loaded with chef-inspired fillings features a pastry shell made of 64 layers of compressed crusts for that sturdy texture. Although a tad too small to be considered for a one-dish meal, still they are so good you can be prepared to go for a second. Or order a pie set that comes with a side of salad and a warming soup made from scratch.

If you’re a 9-5 commuter or a resident around Tai Seng station, Boathouse Galley serves daily $10 nett set lunches that comes with a drink. And if you’re looking for casual brekkie at a comforting environment at any time of the day, rejoice! Because they serve all-day breakfast.

With a beautifully firm crust that doesn’t shatter under the weight of a fork, the Thai Green Curry Chicken Pie delivers a subtle flavor of spices and fresh chicken pieces. This can make do for a quick in-between snack, that is if you keep it to one serving.

One of Boathouse Galley’s proudest work, the super-luxe Beef Burgundy (Bourguignon) Pie is laden with chunky beef that’s infused with red wine and slow cooked overnight, chopped onions, carrots, peas and corn. Opt for this if you’re looking for the ultimate comfort food.

Fried chicken can always make you delve into your fondest childhood memories. Every recipe is unique and the same goes for Boathouse Galley. The flat-out tasty recipe features tender juicy chicken meat wrapped in shatteringly crispy skin that sealed the flavors. The Boathouse Fried Chicken comes with a choice of real mashed potatoes in rich chicken gravy or crispy shoestrings fries, homemade coleslaw and a drink.

An all-time favorite and definitely a no-brainer, Sous Vide Boneless Chicken Leg has a satisfying layer of fatty crunch without being too overpowering. It might look deceptively simple, but these chicken legs are cooked sous vide – sealed in airtight plastic bags then placed in a water bath – to ensure that moisture is retained within.

Stews are supposed to be all about the layers of flavor, and the Jamaican Beef Stew is no exception to this golden rule. With a depth of flavor achieved by the slow cooking time, the warming flavors can linger on the palate for some time. No matter whether you dip toasted multi-grain bread in it, or savor it with rice, this would call for a satisfying meal.

Nelson the chef concocts a sensual coupling of sea and fruits. Sous Vide Salmon Fillet with Peach Chutney Sauce might be made up of humble ingredients but it has a big impact on the palate. The specially made sauce is surprisingly light on the taste buds, with just the right amount of spiciness that tones down the sweetness from the peaches and enhances the briny flavors of the fish.

Boathouse Galley’s wide range of pies doesn’t stop at the savory, their special warm Apple Pie served with Vanilla Ice Cream is bound to keep you coming back for one more crumb. Cubed apples enclosed in biscuity crust, paired with cold vanilla ice-cream sprinkled with cinnamon powder – you’re gonna want every last bit of it.

For beverages, you can choose from six types of aromatic premium tea such as the Oolong with Pear or Minty Cool Lime. Ask the baristas for iced on a hot day. An extensive list of coffee are available for coffee-lovers as well – notably their house blend of Brazilian Santos, Colombian Supremo, Sumatran Mandheling and Ethiopian Sidamo.
