Peony Jade – Harvest Bountiful Beginnings with Artful Food

As always, Singapore is brimming full with festive menu from restaurants of every size during this period of time. For something more imaginative and indulging, Peony Jade’s 2016 Monkey Magic Chinese New Year menu will absolutely fit the bill. The restaurant prepares eight new creations and saccharine desserts for the menu.

Instant Enormous Windfall, Good Health & Longevity Yu Sheng certainly succeeded the innovative element of Peony Jade’s previous CNY creations. This brilliant handcrafted work-of-art serves 10, and sets the tone for the festive feast. Prepared with an assortment of seafood, for instance lobster, premium 2-head golden abalone, tuna (sashimi grade) and salmon (sashimi-grade), etc., this celebratory toss-for-fortune must-have is complete with fresh apricot and peach jam dressing, Peony Jade’s deep-fried thin taro strips, roasted pine nuts and toasted sesame seeds. Available for dine-in at both Peony Jade outlets. 1-day advance order is required.

Peony Jade’s Triumph Premium Braised Poon Choi fires up your appetite with delicate bursts of truffle-scented taste, luxurious stock, and thickened sauce all in balance. The sauce coats 18 premium ingredients – 8-head Australia Whole Abalone, ½ roasted goose, a whole pork knuckle, golden oysters, South African spikes sea cucumber, fresh whole scallops, pork tendons, fatt choy, fish maw, king-sized prawns, whole shiitake mushrooms, homemade sea-grouper fish dace, whole golden dried conpoy, taro, beancurd skin, radish, and tender broccoli – softening them up slightly, and making them taste almost bright and refreshing.

Progress & Advancement Wealth is a food-meets-art masterpiece in the form of a cherry blossom tree to signify bliss, success and fortune in the new year. The real magic is in the fresh and light lobster flesh set on top of silky egg white, topped with savoury yet rich caviar. 1-day advance order is required.

Abounding Wealth is a traditional must-have Chinese New Year dish where a deboned suckling pig is roasted slowly over charcoal fire to succulent perfection. Wok-fried glutinous rice with Chinese sausages are then compacted within the pig, which resulted in well-seasoned juices seeping into the grains of rice.


Chinese New Year calls for sweet dessert to represent starting the new year on a sweet note. Expect exquisitely handcrafted works-of-art, kumquat-shaped mochi filled with yuzu-infused white lotus paste and peach-shaped pastries with low sugar white lotus and Macadamia nuts in the “Double Blessings” gift set. In the other just-as-artful set “Triumphant Harvest & Longevity”, presents three handmade monkey figurines harvesting the peach-shaped pastries, which are rich with molten salty-sweet egg yolk lava fillings.
