The story of Song Fa Bak Kut Teh

Song Fa started in 1969 as one man's pushcart on Johor Road, selling Teochew-style bak kut teh with a peppery, garlicky clear broth. His children later turned it into a casual-dining chain with Michelin Bib Gourmand recognition and outlets elsewhere in Asia.

  • 1969: Yeo Eng Song started selling bak kut teh from a pushcart on Johor Road.
  • 2007: His elder son, Yeo Hart Pong, opened the first restaurant-style Song Fa at 11 New Bridge Road.
