Best Ramen in Singapore: 17 Best Spots (2026)

ramen in Singapore

Singapore's ramen scene is anchored by tonkotsu, the creamy, long-simmered pork-bone broth from Fukuoka's Hakata district, and several shops here specialise in it: Hakata Ikkousha (a roughly 20-hour pork broth), Ippudo's Shiromaru and Akamaru bowls, Keisuke's Tonkotsu King and Tonkotsu King Four Seasons, Hiroshima-born Bari-Uma, Nantsuttei with its black garlic oil, and Torasho's uni tonkotsu. Beyond pork-bone broth, you will find chicken tori-paitan at Mensho Tokyo and Keisuke Tori King, Kikanbo's numbing karashibi miso, Enishi's dashi bowls, Kajiken's brothless mazesoba and a prawn broth at Ebi Bar. Most bowls cost from around $13 to $20 before service charge and GST, with premium wagyu and uni bowls going higher. Tanjong Pagar has the densest cluster of shops. Halal options are limited because tonkotsu is a pork broth, but The Ramen Stall and Ichikokudo are listed in the MUIS halal directory. One famous name is missing: Ichiran has no permanent outlet in Singapore. Check hours before you go, since many shops close between lunch and dinner.

Last verified: October 2026. Hours and prices can change — we re-check our guides regularly, but do confirm before a special trip.

Your questions answered

Where can I get the best tonkotsu ramen in Singapore?

For classic Hakata-style tonkotsu (pork-bone broth), try Hakata Ikkousha at Tanjong Pagar Plaza and CHIJMES, Ippudo's Shiromaru and Akamaru bowls at its many outlets, and Keisuke's Ramen Keisuke Tonkotsu King at Orchid Hotel or Tonkotsu King Four Seasons in Bugis Village. For other takes, Bari-Uma in Novena serves a Hiroshima tonkotsu-shoyu, Nantsuttei at Orchard Central adds black garlic oil, Torasho on Tras Street does an uni tonkotsu, and Ramen-ya in Upper Changi has a Special Tonkotsu Red with chilli oil.

Is there an Ichiran ramen in Singapore?

No. As of October 2026, Ichiran has no permanent outlet in Singapore. Its official overseas listing covers only New York, Hong Kong and Taiwan. The chain's only appearance here was a pop-up at Takashimaya Square during the Japan Food Matsuri from 3 to 20 October 2019, which served Ichiran's instant ramen rather than its fresh-noodle restaurant bowls. For a similar Hakata-style tonkotsu, Hakata Ikkousha, Ippudo and Ramen Keisuke Tonkotsu King are the closest local options.

How much does a bowl of ramen cost in Singapore?

Most ramen bowls cost from around $13 to $20 before service charge and GST. Value-focused shops like the Keisuke outlets start from around $12 to $14, while premium bowls with toppings such as uni or wagyu cost from around $24, and up to about $41 for Mensho Tokyo's A5 wagyu aburasoba.

Are there halal ramen options in Singapore?

Yes, but they are limited because most authentic ramen, tonkotsu especially, is made with pork. The Ramen Stall on North Bridge Road and the three Ichikokudo Hokkaido Ramen outlets (313@somerset, Suntec City and Changi Airport Terminal 3) are listed in the MUIS halal directory. Certification can change, so check the MUIS directory before visiting.

Which areas have the best concentration of ramen shops?

Tanjong Pagar is the main hub, with Hakata Ikkousha, Ramen Keisuke Tonkotsu King, Ramen Keisuke Tori King, Kajiken, Enishi and Torasho all within a short walk of Tanjong Pagar MRT. Orchard and Somerset (Nantsuttei, Ebi Bar, Fire Ramen by Menbaka) and the City Hall and Bugis areas also offer plenty of choice, and Ramen-ya sits further out in the east.

What should I look for in a good bowl of ramen?

Look for a broth with clear character, whether a rich, long-simmered tonkotsu, a lighter shoyu or shio, a chicken-based tori-paitan or a spicy miso. Noodle texture, quality chashu and a properly seasoned soft egg (ajitama) are good signs. Dry mazesoba is a brothless alternative worth trying.

Do I need to make reservations, and are there queues?

Many ramen shops are walk-in only and small, so queues are common at peak lunch and dinner times, especially at Ramen-ya and the Keisuke outlets. Going slightly off-peak helps. Confirm opening hours in advance, as several places close between lunch and dinner, and Enishi closes early once its soup sells out.
