Best Laksa in Singapore: 15 Best Spots (2026)

laksa in Singapore

The best laksa in Singapore is found at stalls like 328 Katong Laksa, Sungei Road Laksa and King of Laksa, the only laksa stall in the Michelin Guide Singapore 2026 Bib Gourmand list. Most bowls are Katong (nyonya) style: rice vermicelli cut short to eat with a spoon, in a coconut and dried-shrimp gravy with cockles, prawns and fishcake, with charcoal-cooked and claypot versions too. Hawker bowls cost from around $2.80 to $8, and the biggest cluster is in Katong along East Coast Road, with more in Chinatown, the CBD and heartland food centres. Many stalls open only for breakfast and lunch and sell out early, so go before 1pm and check closing days first.

Last verified: October 2026. Hours and prices can change — we re-check our guides regularly, but do confirm before a special trip.

Your questions answered

Where is the best laksa in Singapore?

Commonly recommended stalls include 328 Katong Laksa and Janggut Laksa in Katong, charcoal-cooked Sungei Road Laksa on Jalan Berseh, Depot Road Zhen Shan Mei Claypot Laksa at Alexandra Village, and King of Laksa in Aljunied, which is the only laksa stall in the Michelin Guide Singapore 2026 Bib Gourmand selection.

How much does a bowl of laksa cost in Singapore?

Hawker laksa costs from around $2.80 (63 Laksa at Ghim Moh) to around $8 for large or premium bowls. Most stalls in this guide charge around $4 to $6 for a standard bowl, and extra cockles, prawns or crayfish cost more.

Is there halal laksa in Singapore?

None of the stalls in this guide are halal-certified. Sungei Road Laksa is reported to use no pork or lard but is not certified. If you need halal food, check the MUIS halal directory for certified stalls or ask the stall directly.

What is the difference between Katong laksa and other laksa?

Katong laksa uses rice vermicelli cut into short pieces so it can be eaten with a spoon, in a rich coconut and dried-shrimp gravy. Sungei Road-style bowls tend to be lighter and are sometimes kept hot over charcoal, claypot laksa is served bubbling in a claypot, and Penang assam laksa is a sour tamarind and fish broth with no coconut milk.

Which area of Singapore is best for laksa?

Katong along East Coast Road has the most famous cluster, with 328 Katong Laksa and Janggut Laksa almost opposite each other. Chinatown and the CBD have Famous Sungei Road Trishaw Laksa at Hong Lim, The Asian Makanstall at Chinatown Complex and Terry Katong Laksa at Amoy Street.

What are laksa stall opening hours, and do I need to book?

Hawker stalls do not take bookings. Many laksa stalls open only from breakfast to early afternoon (for example, Guang Fa Laksa runs from 8am to 1:30pm) and close when they sell out, while 328 Katong Laksa's East Coast Road outlet opens until 9:30pm. Check rest days before you go: Sungei Road Laksa is closed on Wednesdays.
