halal japanese in Singapore

Halal Japanese food in Singapore now covers far more than teriyaki. You can get ramen, sushi, yakiniku, gyukatsu, udon, donburi and Japanese curry from places listed in the MUIS halal directory. Those include Ichikokudo and The Ramen Stall for ramen, Super Sushi and Sauté Sushi for sushi, Yakiniku Shokudo for grill sets and Gyusei for wagyu katsu. We checked every venue in November 2026 and labelled each one as MUIS-certified, Muslim-owned or reported halal. Places are spread across the city, north, east and west, so you can find one near you. Certificates are renewed every year, so look for the current one before you order.

Last verified: November 2026. Hours and prices can change — we re-check our guides regularly, but do confirm before a special trip.

Your questions answered

Where can I find halal Japanese food in Singapore?

Plenty of halal Japanese places appear in the MUIS halal directory. For ramen, try Ichikokudo, The Ramen Stall or WOKE Ramen. For donburi and gyudon there are Sukiya, Yoshinoya and Hatsumi, and for grill sets there is Yakiniku Shokudo. Gyusei does wagyu gyukatsu, Fu-Men does udon and Monster Planet does Japanese curry. For sushi, try Super Sushi or Sauté Sushi. Daya Izakaya and Oiishii Corner are Muslim-owned options.

Is there halal sushi in Singapore?

Yes. Super Sushi runs about 20 MUIS-listed takeaway sushi kiosks in malls such as Tampines Mall, ION Orchard and JEM, with pieces from about S$1.20. Sauté Sushi at Paya Lebar Square is a MUIS-listed, fully plant-based sushi train. The Ramen Stall in Kampong Glam also serves maki and sashimi under its MUIS certificate. Hei Sushi (conveyor belt) and Maki-San (build-your-own rolls) are both sold as halal, but we could not find either in the MUIS online directory in November 2026, so check the certificate at the counter.

Where can I get halal ramen near me?

In town, Ichikokudo has MUIS-listed ramen at 313@Somerset, Suntec City and Changi Airport Terminal 3, and The Ramen Stall is on North Bridge Road in Kampong Glam. In the north-east, WOKE Ramen is at Compass One in Sengkang, with a second outlet at Changi Airport Terminal 1. In Toa Payoh, Oiishii Corner at Kim Keat Palm Market is a Muslim-owned hawker stall serving teriyaki chicken and inari ramen. Tokyo Shokudo Bistro at Bugis Junction also serves ramen.

Is there a halal Japanese restaurant for yakiniku, katsu or a buffet?

For yakiniku, Yakiniku Shokudo has nine MUIS-listed outlets, including IMM, Plaza Singapura and Bedok Mall. Yakiniku OK! in Pasir Ris says it uses halal-supplied meat. For katsu, Gyusei Gyukatsu at Hotel Clover serves MUIS-listed A5 wagyu gyukatsu, and Monster Planet does chicken katsu curry. We could not verify a dedicated MUIS-certified Japanese buffet, so check the MUIS directory before booking any all-you-can-eat deal.

What's the difference between MUIS-certified, Muslim-owned and reported halal?

MUIS-certified means the outlet holds a current halal certificate from MUIS, Singapore's Islamic council, and appears in its online directory. Muslim-owned means the owners are Muslim and say they serve no pork or alcohol, but the outlet has no MUIS certificate. Reported halal means the brand or reviews describe it as halal, but we could not confirm a current MUIS listing, so ask to see the certificate.

How do I check if a Japanese restaurant in Singapore is halal-certified?

Search the outlet's name or postal code in the MUIS Halal Establishments directory at halal.muis.gov.sg. Each outlet has its own certificate, so one branch being listed doesn't mean they all are. Certificates are renewed every year, so also look for the current certificate on display at the counter.
