The story of Paradise Dynasty
Paradise Dynasty is the xiao long bao specialist of Paradise Group, a Singapore company that began as a zi char stall in a Defu Lane coffeeshop. It made its name at ION Orchard with a basket of eight differently flavoured soup dumplings.
- 2002: Eldwin Chua took over his grandfather's Defu Lane coffeeshop and turned it into Seafood Paradise, the start of Paradise Group.
- 2010: The first Paradise Dynasty opened at ION Orchard, with its signature basket of eight colour-coded xiao long bao.
- 2011: Paradise Group won several Singapore business honours, including the Singapore Prestige Brand Award and the Enterprise 50 Award.
- 2016: Private equity firm PAG took a stake in Paradise Group to fund overseas growth.
- 2021: Paradise Dynasty opened its first US restaurant, at South Coast Plaza in Costa Mesa, California.
- 2024: Paradise Group bought back PAG's shares, returning the group to full ownership by its founders' company.
