Best Michelin Bib Gourmand Eats in Singapore: 13 Best Spots (2026)

Singapore's Michelin Bib Gourmand list, first published when the guide launched here in 2016 and refreshed every year, spotlights restaurants and hawker stalls serving excellent food at friendly prices (Michelin's benchmark has traditionally been a meal around S$45 or less). The awardees stretch across the whole island, from Maxwell and Amoy Street hawker centres to Geylang seafood houses and Little India biryani counters, covering everything from chicken rice and nasi lemak to laksa and bak kut teh. The picks below are long-standing, currently-open Bib Gourmand names worth seeking out, ranked roughly by iconic status; because awardees, hours and stall locations do change, it is always worth confirming before you go.

Last verified: September 2026. Hours and prices can change — we re-check our guides regularly, but do confirm before a special trip.

Your questions answered

What is a Michelin Bib Gourmand?

It is a Michelin Guide distinction (not a star) recognising restaurants and stalls that serve great quality food at moderate prices. In Singapore the benchmark has traditionally been a meal costing around S$45 or less, and the award has been given here since the guide launched in 2016.

How much should I expect to pay?

Many hawker Bib Gourmand dishes are very affordable, from about S$3–15 for carrot cake, chicken rice, laksa or bak kut teh. Sit-down zi char and seafood spots like Kok Sen or Sin Huat cost more, especially for live crab priced by weight.

Are there halal Bib Gourmand options?

Yes. Hjh Maimunah, a Malay-Indonesian nasi padang restaurant, is halal-certified, and Bismillah Biryani in Little India is Muslim-owned and operated. Most Chinese hawker and zi char venues serve pork and are not halal, so check each one individually before visiting.

Which areas have the most Bib Gourmand food?

They are spread island-wide. Central hawker centres like Maxwell and Amoy Street are dense with them, alongside neighbourhoods such as Chinatown/Keong Saik, Kampong Glam, Little India, Geylang and Newton, plus heartland spots in Toa Payoh, Jurong East and Alexandra.

Do I need to reserve, and should I expect queues?

Hawker stalls do not take reservations and popular ones for chicken rice, carrot cake or laksa often have queues at peak times, with some selling out early. A few sit-down restaurants such as Kok Sen accept bookings. Always confirm opening hours and closure days before you go.
